Fish & Work Week

May 24-28, 2011      Tuesday – Saturday

This is a great opportunity to fish in the 120 well stocked lakes scattered throughout the 7,900 acres of the Greene-Sullivan State Forest (an Indiana State Park). These lakes date back to the 1930’s when the land was strip-mined. The lakes are stocked with bass, blue gill, red ear sunfish, channel catfish, crappies, and rainbow trout. Do a search for Greene-Sullivan State Forest for more information. The Forest is just south and west of the camp.

Options:

  1. Stay at the camp and fish at your leisure. The camp offers cabins, RV full hook ups, and two meals a day all for $15 per day. Stay one to five days.

  1. Individuals who would like to volunteer to help prepare the camp for the summer season may come and work for one to five days. If they would like to fish part of the time (not required), that would be arranged. For those choosing Option 2, there is no fee charged for those working full or part time. Lodging and meals are provided by the camp.

Contact J.R. Satterfield NO later than May 16 to register, if you plan to attend one or more days. Space is limited, but the fish are abundant. Prizes will be considered for the best “You should have seen the one that got away” rendition. Information will be provided about lodging, meals, fishing, license, boating information, and DNR permits.
